Mariel Hemingway had breast implants that were later removed because of health reasons. In 1983, Mariel starred as Dorothy Stratten in Star 80, a film about the Playboy star's life and murder. For that acting role, Hemingway had her breasts enlarged. Mariel later removed the implants in 2001 after one of them ruptured.

Hemingway has appeared in films such as Falling From Grace, Manhattan, and Personal Best. Mariel's grandfather is the famous writer Ernest Hemingway.
