Lana Del Rey is an up-and-coming American singer-songwriter most famous for her hit singles "Summertime Sadness" and "Video Games" off of her second studio album "Born to Die" (2012). The unexpected success of the album garnered Del Rey a surprise Grammy Award nomination for Best Pop Vocal Album of 2012. Known for her breathy vocals and for writing her own lyrics, Del Rey attracted attention for the use of her lower, deeper vocals. Del Rey cites Janis Joplin
and Elvis Presley
as musical inspirations for her own work. Del Rey rebounded from a widely-criticized and poorly-reviewed live performance on Saturday Night Live wherein the singer was criticized for a sluggish, off-key performance. Del Rey is set to release a short film entitled Tropico (2014) available to her fans via iTunes.

Lana Del Rey has recently been rumored to have undergone a lip augmentation via the use of injectable fillers such as Restalyne or Juvederm due to a more noticeably full pout.
Miami plastic surgeon Dr. Michael Salzhauer says about the singer's pout: “It does appear that Lana Del Rey has enhanced her pout with some type of dermal fillers such as Restylane or Juvederm. They are a bit overfilled and disproportionate to her other facial features.”
However, Dr. Salzhauer goes onto theorize that it is possible that the singer's lips could be unaltered and merely the result of accentuating or downplaying her lips via makeup and lipstick.
