Cher has had a breast augmentation, rhinoplasty (nose job), blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery), and possibly many others including enhancing the appearance of her teeth, liposuction, and a facelift. Although speculution revolved around Cher getting cheek implants, a tummy tuck, and a rib removed, she has completely denied the truth in those rumors. However, Cher openly admits she has become "the plastic surgery poster girl".

Regarding her cheeks and ribs, Cher says, "I've had my cheekbones since I was small. And it is impossible to have a rib removed! When I heard that said of me I thought it particularly silly – but I will have to defend myself for the rest of my life against it." Commenting on why she had breast implants, Cher says: "Oh, because they got so much bigger after Chastity was born, and I couldn't bear to see them deflate." Cher says the first time she went under the knife was to have a rhinoplasty (nose job), after seeing herself on film for the first time. Cher says, "I looked at myself up there on that screen and thought, I'm all nose." In addition to all these procedures, Cher says she's now begun laser surgery to get rid of two of her "millions" of tattoos. But as for more extensive work, Cher says she has grown tired of all the speculation that she's having more procedures. "It bothers me sometimes," Cher says, "but not enough to hold back my progress." Cher's name at birth was Cherilyn Sarkisian and she is part of the singing duo Sonny & Cher. Cher met Sonny Bono in 1963. In 1965 they recorded their first hit, "I Got You Babe." The pair eventually married from 1969-75.
